This video was taken in Salem, Oregon at the capitol on March 14, 2013. We decided to stroll up and ask some questions – the answers get really interesting at the 3:00 mark of the video. Initially, a young woman began to answer our questions but very quickly she was pulled back so a staffer could take control. The staffer proceeds to explain that Multnomah County has very different values and politics and as such, makes decisions for school based health clinics based upon those values and politics. The audio is not great but you can still understand, turn up on the volume on your speakers when listening. There were a lot of high school students milling around so there was quite a bit of back ground noise.
There were many children present at this school based health clinic booth that were brought in by the bus load. At least three school buses were seen in the capitol parking lot that Thursday. Interesting to note that after many of these children were set loose in the capitol with their talking points, a charter bus full of Planned Parenthood folks showed up and followed right behind the kids as they talked to legislators. Coincidence?
